Dear Gail. —
and all the furry critters
I cannot thank you enough for all you've done for me & Shadow. We are
looking forward to the coming year.
Here's a dog who I could barely get out of his crate to one who takes
regular walks to downtown Ft. Collins.
Thanks!

Dear Dr. Gail Clark,
Thank you so much for your continued commitment toward the proper care and training of
dogs. We hope you know what a blessing you are to the families you help with their
pets. We were so frustrated with what was being offered as "training" in our area
of Denver. It was merely expensive puppy play classes.
We loved the classes we took from you ... with our Boston Terrier Tanner (he was a
puppy then). We took three classes from you with Tanner and one individual special
ed class (stubbornness seems to be a familiar trait in this breed). Tanner is now
7. We believe Tanner is such an awesome pet due to your guidance.
We look forward to the opportunity of training our new Boston Terrier, Tulip, with
you. Hopefully we will see her bloom in obedience under your guidance as well.
Thanks again,

Gail,
I do not know if you remember me. I was a 4th year vet student at CSU (Fall
of 2006) when I adopted Jill (fearful little grey dog) that you helped me with.
She is now a perfect dog, well-socialized yet we still use your training
guides when she meets new people and it has been great.
I am sure I speak of your name once a week when I tell people the story
how my former landlord (also a vet) contacted you and said Jill should be
euthanized for her aggressive tendencies. We live in Columbia, Missouri and we just adopted a pug
from a rescue...

Hi Gail -
Just wanted to write you a quick thank you for helping us out with Sheeba
and her impolite behavior with our guests. After your training, we practiced
her 'settle' and her 'sit/stay' at the door for the next week. The Sunday
after your Tuesday lesson with us, we decided to invite my entire family
over for some dinner. My family include my mom, dad, and brother - some of
Sheeba's very favorite people (and one's that she has a pretty bad track
record of being calm around!)
After less than a week of practice, and our first visitors since the training,
I was pretty nervous about how things were going to turn out. I shouldn't have
been! Sheeba didn't jump on ANYONE one single time. She stayed in her seated
position next to the door when everyone first came in, and once they were seated
we let her release and come over for some quick pats and praise from our company.
After that we put her into a 'settle' in the spot we've designated as her
'settle area', and there she laid the ENTIRE rest of the night. She was calm,
pleasant, and obedient for the entire 2 hours my family was over. My family had
to pick their jaws up off the floor - they could not begin to believe the
difference in ol' Sheebs. (Plus, my dad thought you were incredibly interesting
and knowledgeable, and is now excited for getting another puppy in the future so
he can join a puppy training class with you!): )
Just wanted to say 'thanks' and fantastic job - you allowed us to share with our
guests the dog that we love so much. I'm glad we're now able to show people what
a sweet and loving pet we have (previously it had just been us trying to convince
people!) You are meant for the job you are doing - both Nick and myself couldn't
be happier with the well-mannered, obedient, and all-around more fun family member
that you've helped us achieve!
Thanks Gail!

I want to thank you for everything you have taught us, and please pass this
success on to Kirsten.
Yesterday, I was even able to carry on a conversation with a stranger only a
foot or two away and she sat calmly looking around, uncaring. If you recall,
it was that exact situation that brought us to you in the first place when she
bit a park workers hand. Once again, the other day we stopped on the street to
talk with a stranger and she was incredibly calm and well behaved. What a joy!
Thanks again.

I would love to share my story. Before we started training with
Brooklyn he would jump on me, pounce me and even run after me. Brooklyn being
an African Mastiff was potentially dangerous and I felt vulnerable to his size
even though I knew Brooklyn was just having fun on his part. For me, Brooklyn’s
behavior was not just annoying, but dangerous to me, my family, and other people
who came into contact with him. I eventually found myself avoiding contact with
him and felt guilty that I couldn't give him the attention he needed. Then I decided
to have Dr. Gail Clark work with us to train Brooklyn. After the first visit Dr.
Clark gave Brooklyn, my husband and I the tools to get rid of this harmful behavior.
Brooklyn now sits as soon as I walk in the same area as him and when he starts
getting rowdy he will sit on my command as well as get off and my command. I have
not had Brooklyn jump on me since our fist visit. I was, and still am, amazed
at his progress due to Brooklyn’s natural attitude to defy any type of control
or obedience. I am so thankful for the training and look forward to all future
training sessions with Dr. Clark.

I took another dog through this class 10 years ago and Gail’s
methods were wonderful and highly effective. When I got my new dog there was no
question who I was going to call for obedience. I live 45 minutes away, but the
class was well worth the drive. Gail’s training techniques are easy to incorporate
and my dog has responded very well to them. I sincerely appreciate the individual
attention that I received from Gail and Kirsten when I was having trouble or when
my dog was not cooperating. I also appreciate their honesty and forthrightness.
I feel privileged to have access to such amazing trainers. I look forward to
continuing with the more advanced levels of obedience once we have mastered the basics.

I didn't come into the class with much expectation for Shadow...
she was just so shy and scared. I left with a dog that will now come
to me and she is such a part of the family now. I am beyond excitement
about what you taught both of us. We are working together several times
a week and she is still progressing...she has miles and miles to go but
we will get there. You have no idea how close I was to having Shadow
put down because of all the issues she had....give yourself a "pat on the
back". It is because of you and your teaching that I now have a dog
that will live a full and meaningful life. Thank you so
very much......

Hi Gail...
You have been a true miracle working with him. He actually is excited to go on walks
now and will even come to the door when the bell rings. Something he would never have
done before!
Again...thank you so much.

Subject: "leave it" and "wait" command really works!
Hi,
Here is picture from Gump's first birthday....proof that your class is worth the money and then some!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
amber, brian and gump!!!!

Pam & I thoroughly enjoyed the "Level 1 — Beginner Dog
Obedience Class". As you know Kaci (6 years old) had already been taught many of
the dog obedience commands by my son. As first time dog owners your class helped
us both learn some very important basic dog training techniques as well as what to
look for and expect from daily people and dog interactions. Pam, Kaci, & I
will all be safer and happier as a result of your training. I especially appreciated
the small class size, your expert knowledge, and the timely and direct feedback
you gave me as we learned to train. Pam is helping me remember to say each command
just once and make sure Kaci responds. Together we are continuing to train Kaci and
we are getting better each day. After we master the basics we fully expect to come
back for the Level 2 Class. She is capable of so much more than we ever expected.

We got some valuable advice on how to deal with certain behavioral
issues and some insight into Paolo's thought processes. I was particularly happy
to work on walking without pulling. This was very helpful for us.

My poodle, Patrick, and I had a wonderful time. I liked how you taught
how a dog thinks. The simple one word commands are clear. Our whole family is bonding
even more with this smart dog! Thank you and I look forward to continued training with you!

"The length of the class was just right"
I believe my dog’s behavior improved in class and at home during training.
... The emergency recall we were taught was tested. She was off leash in a large parking
lot and saw a fox. Both dogs took off after the fox and after shouting her name 3 times
she stopped and returned to me. It was amazing, I was sure she would continue the pursuit.

Our dog Gump looked forward to going to class and he enjoyed the class!
We also enjoyed learning effective tools that has help shaped our beloved dog into a
polite and well behaved dog! And that is no easy task with a 10 month old Chessie :-)

This class was excellent. My dog is older and I adopted him from
an animal shelter without any knowledge of his history. Gail successfully taught
both my dog and I how to improve upon training and discipline. I enjoyed the
class very much and I learned that my dog is capable of great things with the
proper training and patience. I would highly recommend this class; old dogs can
learn new tricks!
Thank you.
Marjorie
... Thanks for everything... I’m enjoying the classes very much,
and getting many tools to work on with Soph — you’re obviously an expert in your
field, and I have the utmost respect for your talents and knowledge.
Jan
Let’s put it this way — I started this class thinking I needed
to give the dog back to the breeder, for someone with better skills. Since this
class, Milo is no longer in danger of losing his home with me.
My Comments:
There are many puppy classes in the Fort Collins area that promise to introduce
a puppy (and the owner) to the concepts of training and obedience. However, I
don’t think many (if any) other courses are so deeply steeped in the principles
of dog behavior. This course taught techniques with the rationale behind the
techniques, so that I could learn how to have a good relationship with my dog —
not just ask him to do tricks. And even more importantly, this class taught me
how to handle the difficult behaviors, how to handle the situations when my puppy
did not respond the way the puppy books said he would or should. This course gave
me the confidence I needed to handle the hard stuff, and helped me get rid of my
frustrations, so that I could develop a solid relationship with my puppy. The
more he learns, the better companion he becomes, the better our relationship is,
the more affectionate he is, and the more satisfying our companionship is —
for both of us. Thank you, Gail!!

Thanks, Gail. I have to say that I have seen a lot of change in Tiger.
She is no longer an unmanageable dog. She actually listens! This is wonderful...I do
look forward to the advanced class!
Paula
Thank you Gail for all your wonderful ideas with Crosby. Your class
is fun, upbeat and works great for us. Thanks for letting us take turns with the training,
that was so helpful especially for (my son).

Please move to Denver! Save me driving!
We made progress for sure. You are the PRO.

4 weeks was a good length.
Vicki
Love the smaller classes. More personal attention. Sometimes feels
like a lot in one hour.... Love the location, too.
Tina
Length of Class & duration of 4 weeks works well. ... The small
class size offers individual attention, which leads to learning new skills quickly
Diane
I love this class. It has made a big difference in a wild Lab. He
finally listens to me. A dog that needed discipline, got it.

Magic, Wrangler and I have worked with Gail (in private lessons).
Gail is a marvelous teacher with excellent credentials and a world of experience.
She is committed to her work an sincerely cares about her clients – canine and
human.
Magic and I, in particular, have grown tremendously with her direction and support.
We had almost seen Magic, our German Shepherd, as too difficult to cope with.
Through her insights, persistence and behavioral training he has become a good
friend and companion. We still have issues to resolve but with Gail's expertise
and unfailing support I am confident this will happen.

Thank you for a very productive one-on-one session with Rica last
week. We learned more in one hour than in two months of classes. The classes are
good, too, but as a novice at dog training, the one-on-one gave me a clearer picture
of how to work with Rica. I knew I wasn't doing things quite right but didn't
know exactly what I was doing wrong. The session helped tremendously. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Susan
