Kei Wins Best of Breed, Finnish Lapphunds – July, 2011
A little background here: Finnish Lapphunds were officially moved into the Herding Group by AKC on June 20, 2011.
On July 2nd Finnish Lapphund Kei (Sugarok Shogun CD) owned by Donna Payne was the first lappy in Colorado to earn a point as he beat out Keelo (Sugarok Kilowatt in Motion) for Best of Breed. This notable event occurred at the Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club Dog Show held at “The Ranch” between Loveland and Fort Collins, Colorado. AKC Judge Mrs. Janet Turnage Nahikian was the judge who gave this first ever point to a Finnish Lapphund in Colorado!!
